Icemist and Beyond: Characters from Small Beginnings

I apologize to everyone about the lack of posts lately. No excuses, just apology. I hope to have Worm's stats up today or tomorrow and to provide maybe some more info on Black bard's and LiVeWiRe's questions.

Unique Great Sword +2 (The Shimmering Sword is a unique sentient weapon INT 16, LG). It has the following skills – Spot +10 Listen +10, Sense Motive +10, Detect Magic, Detect Evil. It also grants the user special Abilities- cannot be flanked, adds +2 to initiative when wielded, and cleave. The only communication method the sword has though is the ability to shimmer different colors. It is up to the wielder to learn these color combinations.

Yowza! That is one nice sword!

I do believe that Worm could take on a substantial portion of the "Goblin Nation" that dwells in the Sunless Citidel all by himself with that thing.

The Shimmering Sword was designed to get them through the initial fight with the raiding kobolds and to show the group what goodies awaited them as the adventure continued (Sad to say most of these have gone un-noticed, who would have predicted that they would take the mission so seriously that they didn't investigate anything but rather felt speed was necessary to save the lives of the children.)

In that first fight, Worm did do some massive damage with the weapon and Lizon probably would have let him use it to go questing with if he had gone along. Unfortunately things did not work out that way for our heroes and the big lug was forced to stay home as an NPC. (I decided not to allow him to go with the group because I did not want to play Worm one way and have the player return to play him another way. That and the fact that in the last campaign the NPC became party leader and that just took some of the wind out of the game, but in character it just sorta happened and nothing ever happened to change it.)

I love creating unique magic items and I hope to show a few off as the game goes on. (I wish I could show some of the ones they missed, but I stil lwanna use them later.)

Thanks Pack!

Thanks for the info Pack! We appreciate it! :D

Guess Lizon hasn't shared alot about her former adventuring companions, eh? I'm especially intrigued with (The?) Wishbone...

Thanks again!

Regarding the party overlooking magic items, I've been in a couple of groups that did the same thing SO many times! At the end of the campaign, the DM told us what all we had missed and we couldn't believe it!

Dshai, you could always send those out via email to anyone interested???

Who would have thought we'd have a party of heroes with a sense of urgency and accomplishment that overrode any ideas of stopping to search for treasure!

We were trying to save the children's lives for pity's sake!
