ICON at SUNY Stony Brook

I'm heading out to ICON at SUNY Stony Brook (NY) this weekend, and I know Monte and Sue Cook will be there as gaming guests.

Will there be any of the regulars on the boards there as well that I can meet up with?

I'm talking it over with the wifey right now. If my knee holds out (and I get out from under my mountain of work) I'll probably show up on a day pass. Email me and we can see if we'll get together.

Thanks Hal. I'm sure I'll have fun.
Maybe I'll wave a pair of pants around for everyone to spot me.. in honor of Hal not being able to be there....after all, would there be pants if he was there? :)

Not only will I be there, I'll be presenting on three different panels:

o The MUD/NWN GM Conclave is Friday evening, 8 p.m., in the Student Activities Center (SAC) room 304.
o "The Evolution of Onlne Gaming" is Saturday, 3-4 p.m. in SAC 302.
o "The State of the Virtual World" is Saturday, 11 a.m.-12 p.m., in SAC 302.

Drop by, say hello, save me from presenting to a missing audience! :)

Sorry i missed meeting you, Talien. I left on Friday a bit earlier than you post came in, and spent too much downtime over hitting the anime sections of the con.

Being a downtime and not a really work related event for me... I didn't spend half enough time over in the gaming sections as I intended to.

No worries. The first session on Friday wasn't well-attended. It's probably due to the fact that the room was double-booked.

The other two sessions on Saturday had a lot more attendees. We had a lively discussion and gave out freebies. Good stuff.

Maybe next year! :)

Yes. it seemed to me this year.. you either couldn't find the activity or it was packed.

I got to say hello to Monte for about 2 minutes before I had to flee... as my wife was waiting impatiently for us to get off campus and get food before the other part of my group started to canabalize one another... not to meantion I had to get my local GM away from Skip Williams before he got too much advice <grin>
