Iconic characters, statted out?

The Dungeons & Dragons Adventure Game (circa 2000) actually has full character sheets for eight characters at first level: Tordek, Mialee, Jozan, Lidda, Regdar, Naull, Eberk, and Kerwyn.

They all use the standard array (15, 14, 13, 12, 10, 8).

Back in the days of 1E we didn't have Iconics, but if we did we would have probably name them "Joe Fighter," "Joe Ranger," "Joe Paladin," "Joe Thief," Etc. My first game I ever played in had a party of Joes.

The DMG tables are essentially the iconics statted to every level.

Is that true even with the GPV appropriate for a PC of it's level? I thought this was true stat wise, but not magic item wise.

A bunch of them are stated up in the NPC Close Up series. They are listed at the bottom just under their class (Cleric is Jozan, for example). There are stats for 1st & 7th levels plus one level in between (3rd, 4th or 5th).

Of course, they are 3.0, but the differences aren't too much.
