I'm impressed at how well Star Wars is doing on those lists.

I'm impressed WFRP is up there. But ... I take this with a grain of salt.

I am not impressed. Those datas are strange to say the very least. There are significant differences with trends according to C&GM and these differences are significant and not this first case...

I'm amazed so many people are buying the very pricy World of Warcraft board game. I know a lot of WoW players, and haven't heard of anyone who's bought or played it.

Price isn't the issue with FFG's big games. They sell well regardless. People will pay for big games with high end components. Ameritrash is selling extremely well right now.

I bought it for my son for Xmas. I also bought him the XP for it as well at the same time. Too bad. If I had just got the boardgame - I would never have bought the XP.

I love FFG games generally - and the components for WoW are gorgeous. Problem is, the game is just NO FUN to play. I gave it a "2" out of 10 on the Geek.

Only reason it did not get a "1" was because no game with components that nice deserves a 1.

FFG makes some great games. Tide of Iron is excellent. Game of Thrones and War of the Ring are top notch. The new 3rd ed Condottiere is hellafun. Arkham Horror and Marvel Heroes? Same. Twilight Imperium? Totally rocks.

I have heard good things as well about Starcraft (though the reaction to TannHauser has not been very positive so far.)

But WoW? A waste of plastic and paper. A real shame.

Another thing to remember is that we just have rankings. While this probably doesn't apply to the board game category, in other categories (RPGs, I'm looking at you) the top seller might sell 100 times the next in the category.
