Ideas for weapon abilities

The talk is that they plan to make weapons more defined in 4e, here's some ideas I think they might try to create that effect.

Axe
Crushing Blow - Once per encounter when you gain a crit threat, you can add +4 to the confirmation roll.

Spear
Piercing Strike - Once per encounter you can make an attack roll that ignores 2 points of AC from armor.

Rapier
Parry - Once per encounter you may add +2 to your AC for a round.

I would guess they might do some PHBII style ability sets depending on bludgeon, slash, pierce. The feats they created there (like slashing fury) might have been a prep for the 4e system.

No, wait. That was just someone's speculation regarding someone's speculation. Unless I'm simply speculating. Not sure.
 

It's speculation, but it's pretty solid speculation, based on what SAGA already does.

All weapons auto-crit for x2 on a natural 20.

I bet one of the Axe powers will be to make that an x3.
