If players had a screen, what would be on it?

Firebeetle, I run a bi-weekly D&D game and would love to play-test them for you. Get in touch, itoltz@gmail.com

Incidentally, when I play I usually make myself a mat anyways. I get a blank sheet of paper, draw a big box and write HP and put some d10s in there, other boxes for temp HP if I think I'll need them or other resources like power points. I make boxes in pen for x/day things, like rage, and check them off in pencil so I can erase them but leave the boxes. Heck, when I play in RPGA games I even make boxes for action points and potions, since it's a use 'em or lose 'em deal.

Firebeetle-

I've been trying to figure a way to list the bulk of the buff and conditions so that players can check off what's currently in effect, what the bonus is, and then have them add-up to the total impact to hit, damage, AC, etc. HAving read this thread, I'm thinking some sort of counter wheels or just wet/dry erase mat so they can do the arithmetic down the columns would be most useful.

*sigh* You guys have it all wrong.

Player screens should contain:

#1: Phone number for all pizza places that deliver to the game site.
#2: Scheme charts to remind you who your plotting with and against, for example (Gack fighter in his sleep next watch, split loot with cleric.)
#3: Naked pics of your sister for emergency GM bribery.
#4: Naked pics of the GMs gf for emergency GM blackmail.
#5: XP and treasure tables so you can tell when the GM is trying to shaft you.
#6: Ratcheting modifier trackers to keep track of current Attack/saves, etc. It is important that the counters only go up. They can be reset only at the factory. This maximizes the longterm benefit of allowing a bard into the party long after you ate him for rations.

You know what'd be really cool? A little chart with columns for AC modifier, attack modifier, save modifier, etc (and can't forget bonus type, i.e. enhancement, armor, etc) and then each row is a common effect. Mage Armor, Bless, Shaken, etc. Check off the ones you have, add them up in a provided place at the bottom.

I'll take some pictures of our current TABLE TENTS and upload them here. I think you'll like them. There is a lot of history with them and they're not as large or annoying as screens.

Speaking of...here are some Living Greyhawk ones. They are RAMPANT at LG tables:
...snip...

Dude, you might want to remove those links, the download has the full name and RPGA number of one of your players.

And then laminate it, so you can use erasable overhead markers on it.

Trip, grapple, overrun, sunder rules.

The darn cleric's turning table.

Common skill checks.

Lots of little clear pockets, in which you could insert cards with descriptions of your currently prepared spells.

Edit: the DM's side should have current status flags, AC, and current hit points showing -- speeds up the DM's part of combat.
