If you can only afford one 3.5 book...

I think most people fail to see how radicaly changed the spells are. It would absically require a print of all the Spells from the SRD to play 3.5 "pure".

Since my inclination is to not use the revision for our home campaign, but will have to for Living Greyhawk, I will just buy the PHB. The other books will likely follow, but the PHB is a requirement most likely.

The MM, by a long shot. Upgraded monsters, improved descriptions, and doesn't require any other 3.5 book to use. I'm there.
Since the bulk of the MM and the PHB will be in the SRD but much of the DMG will not be /snip/
Much of the DMG won't be? Wha...? Obviously all the diagrams and the like - but what else?

Look through the 3.0 srd and see which book has the most stuff left out, it's the DMG.
 

I would have said the exact opposite a week ago but now I would give priority to the Monster Manual, then the DMG, and lastly to the PHB.
