Since the warehouse for the SJG online shop, Warehouse 23, will move later this year, they have significantly lowered prices for many GURPS 3e books - you can see their books here. Their "standard" 128 page softcovers now only cost $9.95, and smaller books are even cheaper.

And even if you don't like GURPS, many of the books are almost without rules, and thus easily useable for any system - in fact, quite a few people who have professed to hating the GURPS rules still buy these supplements. Now is your time to buy GURPS Horror, Steampunk, or all those Transhuman Space supplements...

In the three years that I've rented my current duplex, I never had a problem, and it was great to have space for my role-playing library and to host and run games for up to 10 people. Unfortunately, the heavy rains that affected the U.S. East Coast two weeks ago, plus new houses up the hill from us and poor drainage, destroyed almost half of my gaming books, 20+ years of campaign notes, and personal mementos dating back from kindergarten through grad school. I've posted photos of the 8+ inches of water on my blog site. Still, it could be worse: There are folks in Louisiana, Pakistan, and Thailand who've lost more than some paper...

Hey, cool! I've been eyeing a copy of GURPS Mars for some time; this may be just what I need to push me over the edge.

Holy crap, though--that S&H is a killer. I can already buy GURPS Mars from half a dozen places online for that same total cost. There no difference between $9.95 plus nearly $7 S&H and $13-14 with $3 or $3.50 S&H.
