If you want to stock up on your GURPS library...

Since I just lost half of my considerable GURPS collection in a basement flood, this is a godsend... Thanks for the heads-up!
Hi Gene! I was just about to send you a link to this thread. Good timing! :)

It did not :(

It was still the best gaming supplement of it's day.

I've never read a single Conan story, and I only vaguely heard of the movies. But I was rather surprised to find that this was a very good generic fantasy world indeed. IIRC, it has far more world information than can be found in the main book of the current Conan RPG...

Not quite a fair comparission. That's like saying the main Conan book has more game rule information than GURPS Conan did because GURPS Conan was a supplement for GURPS. If you want a good treatment of that setting, as TB said, check out Road of Kings.

I *do* own the GURPS3e Conan book - and it's one of my favorite RPG books of all time. However, since I got this great deal at the Spiel '05 (Conan RPG (hc) + Black Kingdoms + Thunder River + Hyboria's Fiercest + Free Companies for 60 euros!), I'm now planning to get me Road of Kings & Shadizar, and then start a GURPS4e Conan campaign! :D

In the three years that I've rented my current duplex, I never had a problem, and it was great to have space for my role-playing library and to host and run games for up to 10 people. Unfortunately, the heavy rains that affected the U.S. East Coast two weeks ago, plus new houses up the hill from us and poor drainage, destroyed almost half of my gaming books, 20+ years of campaign notes, and personal mementos dating back from kindergarten through grad school. I've posted photos of the 8+ inches of water on my blog site. Still, it could be worse: There are folks in Louisiana, Pakistan, and Thailand who've lost more than some paper...

Mental Note: Fire-proof AND water-proof chest for documents.

Yeah, but it's written by Jon Ziegler and James Cambias! :)

Ziegler also wrote Interstellar Wars, which I'm greatly looking forward to. I edited both books, and it's good that they shared an author, because there's good continuity between them.

Cambias wrote Star Hero for 5th Edition Hero System. He's got a good handle on SF role playing.
