Illusion - Best Uses of Illusions & More

In another thread about the uses of illusions, it was said that you could place the image of a sack, bag etc over the head to blind the person, since technically there is no save because there is no interaction until the victim tries to remove the sack with their hands (which I thought of as being wrong). I assume that by the touching clause you also think this is wrong Frank?

In a multi-DM game where bunches of groups were separating, joining other battles, etc. my group ran ahead and joined another table. I described how my gnome was joined with the glowing spirit of a dwarf warrior (we were in dwarven tunnels under attack). We join the fray, and the spirit and my gnome proceed to flank, distract, and generally fluster the enemy (I think they were ogres). Finally, one of the ogres gains the courage to attempt to swing at the spirit.

DM: So, what exactly is the spirit?
Me: A Silent Image.
The DM faceplants.

The party had their own ship, and were on good terms with a lot of the nations in the local area. They had agreed to help a strange pair of people: a talking monkey named Bobo (who claimed to be a person who had been polymorphed by a hag) and a huge hulking mute who was his bodyguard, named Horse.
Thus leading to the age-old adage "Never trust a talking monkey named Bobo!"
