Illusion (glamer)

Is it just me, or is there a major niche lacking in the illusionists repertoire? I mean is there no equivalent for the spell chain Disguise self, Seeming and Veil and such spells that work on objects? Surely there is scope for such a concept, changing objects to look like other things. Sure, there is Prestidigitation, but I read that spell as being severely limited in what it can achieve. There are hundreds and hundreds of spells published by WOTC, and they seem to have covered every concept imaginable. I wonder why it is that this niche hasnt been touched?

Hmmm looks like I'm on my own on this. Does anyone have any suggestions/advice from personal experience in creating spells? I'm hoping to create a chain of illusion (glamer) spells that mimic the Disguise self, Seeming and Veil spells but that allow objects to be targeted. Is there anything that I should keep in mind that might effect the spell level? Have there ever been any spells in previous editions that worked similar to this?

I would start by taking the spells you want to emulate, change the text and stats to reflect objects, and toss them up on the House Rules forum to let the hardcore rules guys hammer on them a bit.
