Illustrator CS 4

First Post
I am using Illustrator CS 4 to create simple maps for my players and i was asking myself one big question..

Is it possible to create a black layer and than if i place a player with a 5 square radius light source the black layer disappears within that radius..

Simply put, is it possible to create fog of war in Illustrator CS 4?

Not that I know of. But if you're looking for an automated Fog of War effect for displaying maps (which even takes vision enhancements like Darkvision and Low Light Vision into account), click on the link in my sig.

How did you do that in gimp?

I made a black layer. I have a few brushes I made that were spell effect ranges in squares. I just erased from the center square using the correct brush. I did it mostly for Play-by-post games where people cast Light or Darkness spells.
