I'm free, FREEE ...(campaign ended yesterday)

Dark Dragon

It's over... after nearly three years DMing a group of seven (often very chaotic) players, I left the DM seat at 21 hours MET and thus the campaign was at an end. YEEEHAAW...

6 PCs made it from about level 8 or 9 to level 14 to 16. 9 PC deaths happened (one suicide, two failed saves (brown dragon's breath, Flame Strike), one for story flavor (without later drawbacks) and 5 because of pure stupidity...). One player has lost two PCs (he didn't want the old ones to be raised or reincarnated), so his last PC was at level 9 at last.

For the story, it was a classical D&D homebrewed adventure (situated in Faerûn) with dungeons and dragons, a powerful artifact, but also a lot of traveling, small and large scale battles, intrigues and the first epic monsters encountered (non-combat encounters, of course). It was a happy end, after all, but the group has now powerful enemies, planning their next step to punish the adventureres for disturbing their plans...:D

Now I can play my rogue again and make some troubles for the new DM :D :p  :)

Unfortunately, there was not much time for appraising the treasures gained because the new story started quickly.

Just have to say that...

A relieved, again playing Dark Dragon

Congratulations! I hope you have a great time playing. It sounds like you earned it. DM-ing is a tough job and a three year campaign with seven players is a major accomplishment!

:) Thanks.
Indeed it was quite difficult to develop a campaign for a such heterogenous group and different play styles.

But, after all, I had a lot of fun (sometimes I'm really evil :D), and I hope that the players did also.

While I on the other hand, am just rotating into the DMs seat after quite the respite. Happy trails Dark.

Yup, sometimes there is a great idea one likes to flesh out and play. If the group picks up the idea and develops it, there will be lots of fun.

Hmm, there are a lot of adventure hooks I placed in the campaign...perhaps I should...well, another time ;)
