I've recently gotten pretty entranced with the Rokugan setting and recently bought the d20 Rokugan book (i've had the OA book for a while now as well) and absolutely fell in love with the setting...I have no clue why I hadn't checked it out previously..but anywayz...I'm going to buy 3 more Rokugan books after work...and I need help deciding which three to pick up...my choices will be..

- Creatures of Rokugan
- Magic of Rokugan
- Way of the Samurai
- Way of the Shugenja
- Way of the Ninja
- Fortune and Winds

Throw out any suggestions or advice on which to buy....I can only pick up three today though (since they are each $24.95)

I don't own any of them, but I read through most of Magic and really like it. The only Rokugen book I have is the main one, and it is excellent.

For background on the clans and the history of the world (not counting the recent 30 year leap forward), the old D10 books are excellent, and usually pretty cheap. Most of the mechanics are incompatible with d20, but they are wonderfully written and really flesh out the world of Rokugan. So if you don't need as much crunch, I recommend picking up the books on your favorite clans (Scorpion and Phoenix were the best IMO).

Of the d20 books, Creatures and Magic are both great, but I'm not such a big fan of the three "way of" books. I'd say just pick up whatever you would use the most of those three.

The Monster's Handbook by FFG, hands down. I agree with Psion, this is definately worth the cash I paid for and then some.

While a very good book, it wasn't one of the ones he listed there. :D

So? :) It's not like I said "Hey go out and by the Player's Guide to Wizards, Bards and Sorcerers!" or "Buy Creature Collection Revised." Think I was very restrainted there Crothy. :)

Nothing wrong with it, but since he was very specific in the books he was after and since they all are the same world I just thought it was a little odd and thought, perhaps you had misread one of the selections. But Monsterhandbook is a great book, heck, I'm going to be using it in my Modern Game.
