I'm not a wizard, druid or ranger. Can I get a Familiar or Animal Companion?

In Transcendence (Arcana Evolved supplement) is a "Runic Affinity" feat that gives you an animal companion that advances similar to that of a druid.

In Complete Adventurer, the Beastmaster gains one or more animal companions.

He could always take Leadership and get an awakened animal or something.

You certainly can. Maybe not a "familiar" per se, but even better! That's right, and in the Core books too. It's called "leadership" and it grants you a 'cohort'. Nothing in the feat says the cohort has to be humanoid. It can be one of the most powerful ever. Adding loyalty and character levels to an animal will have a much better effect than simply getting a familiar or animal companion.


Plus leadership is one of the most powerful feats out there. ^_^

Well, Clerics can become Mystic Wanderers and get a familiar that way, but otherwise, by the rules, not that I know of.
