Imhotep (March Move Monster Mayhem)

Um... Ancient Egyptian (automatic language), Ancient Hebrew, Ancient Greek, Hittite, Nubian, and Assyrian (bonus languages)?

Btw... seriously, awesomely cool.

Thanks, Filby!

I've decided to leave the language-stealing feature of the thief of flesh ability for fantasy campaigns, but added a section on using Imhotep in a real-world Egyptian campaign to make him more like he was in the movie. Does this sound good to everyone?

Damn that's awsome. Damn.

The only quibble I have is the aversion to cats, which Imhotep makes on a 5. I mean come on, challenge the mummy, a DC 35 at least! And I would note that if you are using an egyptian setting to apply it to other undead of egyptian origin.

OR you could just have them take hordes of damage from cats. No supernatural fear effect at all, just the better part of valor. :)

I picture specially trained zombie-hunting housecats...

Good points. I think I'll instead make it work like the aversion psionic power (or spell-like ability of some yuan-ti). How does this look?

Aversion to Cats (Ex): According to the ancients, cats are the guardians at the gates of the underworld. Imhotep must stay at least 30 feet from any cat or other feline creature, alive or dead; if already within 30 feet, he moves away. If Imhotep is unable to move away, or is attacked by cats or other feline creatures, he is overcome with revulsion. This revulsion reduces Imhotep's Dexterity score by 4 points until the he is no longer within 30 feet of a cat or other feline creature. This ability is otherwise similar to antipathy as the spell (caster level 20th).

I'll also add a note to the Egyptian setting section about applying it to other undead.

Thanks. I just got Sandstorm, and now realize I could modify him even more. I don't want to become George Lucas, endlessly tweaking, so I think I'll stop. :)
