However, these leaves are also razor sharp and can act as a swarm of sorts (providing a means of attack and natural cover). Perhaps its a symbiote Eladrin-Swarm? One other aspect could be seasonal based powers. Perhaps when the Eladrin strikes you in melee you must save or be polymorphed into a tree. Even if you make the save you could be rooted to the spot for that round? So lets look at what our brainstorming turned up.1. Its an Eladrin-Swarm symbiote or possibly just controls leaves like a swarm that provides cover as well as damaging foes within range (poignant). In fact I just checked the Eladrin entry in the MM and it appears they all have an Alternate Form, so the alternate form could be a 'swarm' of leaves.2. It may have seasonal based powers/spell-like abilities. (poignant).3. When it strikes in melee you could be polymorphed into a tree (poignant) and are rooted to the spot for all of the next round (poignant and unique?). Or we could change this to a Gaze weapon (given that we will be adding a weapon below).4. Eladrin all seem to wield weapons. I think a staff would be most apropos in this case. Typically they seem to be Holy. I suppose other abilities may depend on how powerful we make the Eladrin. Perhaps it could wield a staff of the woodlands? If so, that tells us the Eladrin would be roughly ECL 18. Although it would only have one item so we would reduce that to ECL 13 (2/3 + 1/12th per artifact), which is CR 8. That fits in somewhere between Bralani and Ghaele, so I would suggest using perhaps 8 Hit Dice.</blockquote>
