Monsters So it's a statted-up version of a Bag of Devouring, except its mouth is pocket-sized? It could be an interesting beast, granted, but it doesn't sound particularly epic in scale so far. I know the original Bag of Devouring had an Ecology article devoted to it in a Dragon issue some years ago- anyone know whether it made it into the Monster Ecologies book? On a slightly different subject, that Cube you posted has some intriguing ideas, by the way! It definitely needs more to distinguish it from the other Orichalcum constructs, but it's a start. The idea of a "living factory" is what I find most interesting personally, whether it's Orichalcum or not, and it could make for some really cool epic plots if handled properly. I'm thinking, why not generalize it the way the other constructs have been by U_K, i.e. the Leviathans all have Nesting, the Colossi all generate Anti-Magic Fields, and so on? Given the sheer power of a Leviathan of any type, and the fact that a "Cube" or "factory" or whatever is significantly larger still, every last one is guaranteed to be a powerful Epic threat even without its army of creations. Two things though- first, you need to figure out just what good that "internal reconfiguring" does mechanically. What does it do for the Cube, and what can't it do? Second, why a Cube particularly (unless you were just inspired by the Transformers movie, which was the first thing I thought of)? :) For my own part, I've been slowly but surely statting up a Young Firmament Dragon for the Sample in the entry, and on the side have been figuring out what the Dark Matter Dragon (the Adamic idea I had) should be like. I'm thinking of basing that one on my own new Concealment Portfolio, the one posted in the other thread. Anybody else have monsters to share or discuss?
