There's a news page, huh?

When I come here, I type in the URL enworld.org/forum/ ... or rather, Firefox just auto-completes it for me.

I think it's safe to say I personally don't use the News page.

To me, as long as ENW is just another aggregator, its news page has little value to me.

See, and I find it has value for this very reason.

The news feed gives me a little taste from a lot of publishers I have no interest in following closely (i.e. signing up for their feed). But once in a while, something comes across the front page that piques my interest, and off I go to a site I certainly wouldn't otherwise have.

Dropping the news section wouldn't stop me visiting EN World, but I would become a more insular gamer.

Hmmm, I read it regularly, but often find not much of interest - too often the news is all 4e.

But I will, and am, going to make it a point to mention things that catch my eye on the news page when I am on the forums, if only to say '$150 for a GM Screen?!' :p

Gut check time.

I have read the news daily for 12 years+. Pretty tough habit to break.

I'm a little disappointed by the depth of self-promotion, but I get it.

Dragon/WoTC not really fitting or playing ball. I get that. Evolve?

I've recently found other sites, particularly Critical Hits, recaps to be more interesting with consistent "hits" for the stuff I'd be interested in.

I always go to the news page first thing every visit. It's what origninally brought me here, and though it's not the main thing keeping me here, a big chunk of ENWorlds utility for me would be gone without it.

Please keep the News.:D
