Version number & updating

Morrus said:
Err... I have no idea, to be honest. I presume the version number is relevant in some way - presumably something can be overwritten? I'll need to experiment to find out.

Cool. Looking forward to any discoveries you make, as it will be more productive for me if I can regulalry (frequently) update with small changes and additions as I create them, rather than turning in giant block upgrades.

I've been reading other people's entries (with the exception of a .zip or two :p) and this is going to be a great resource! Now I'm off to get a head start on my charity contest work ;)...

Ratings & Reviews

Morrus, I've started prowling through other folk's entries and adding ratings and (hopefully helpful) comments. You might want to let folks know somewhere on the page that the details tab leads to ratings and comments. Also, is there some way to flag overal rating and the presence/number of comments on the main page so people know there is some peer review to be had without having to dig into each details page separately (only to find no one has commented yet in most cases)?

Looking forward to the refinement of this resource into something REALLY cool :D.

I have noticed that there are spaces for comments - but I haven't noticed any way to add comments.

I figured that this was a function which hasn't been implemented yet. Or am I mistaken?

Opening a zip file won't cause problems until you run something else inside the zip file. You're safe just seeing what's inside the archive - just be careful with what it contains. A doc file, on the other hand, can do some serious damage via a macro virus the moment you open it.

Click on rate this download, choose a number, and then fill in the text block. the button just to the right of the number you have selected will append both th nuber and the comment to the file :).

Hope this helps,

Ah... Duely noted. I've heard of those. When I update Iron Sea I'll send it as an .rtf. That can support my formating but not macros I believe...

Well, you also have to know that you need to be logged in in the download section... ;)

Now I can only stare at the monitor until the first comment for my setting...

OK, how do I change/update the details of my submission? Note that I don't want to change the submission itself, just the attached info (particularly the description fields).

I can't just resubmit; I get a "file already exists".
