Improved Grapple?

Gunslinger

First Post
I could have sworn that this feat existed somewhere, but now that I'm actually making a grappling oriented character I can't find it at all. Does it actaully exist as a feat, or just as a special monster ability?

Improved Grapple (General) (OA and D&Dg): You are skilled in throws and holds.
Prerequisite: Improved Unarmed Strike
Benefit: When you hit with an unarmed strike and do normal damage you can start a grapple as a free action that does not provoke an attack of opportunity. Also, while grappling your damage is can be normal or subdual with no penalty.

Thanks for the quick response, but I need a little bit of clarifiction. I'm new around here, and not used to referring to the books by acronyms. So could you please explain give me the full titles of "(OA and D&Dg)"

Sorry about that, that's what books they can be found in. OA is Oriental Adventures. D&Dg is Dieties and Demigods. The feat was reprinted into Dieties and Demigods, but either will work for referencing this feat.

Welcome to the Boards. Glad to have you aboard. :)

No wonder I couldn't find it. I checked the PHB, Path of the Sword, War, and all of the class guides, but I didn't bother with either of those 2 books.

I'm glad to see that this isn't the type of board where new members are "poked".

No, we are usually nicer then that. It's the veterans that get harassed around here :D
