Improved Natural Weapon Feat

Targos

Does the monks attacks qualify for this? The PH says the unarmed strike counts as both manufactured & natural weapons for things that enhance them. Some how I dont this was the designers intent.

Where's that feat from?

It's in the back of the MM. Basically it lets you upsize a monster's natural attacks to the next die size.

I don't think I'd allow monks to have it. They already get all the upsizing goodness they need from their class progression.

Ah. Should have looked there.

No, I don't think the monk should get that. Monks do have natural weapon, but they have more than one. While the feat is clear to use for a dragon (increasing his bite damage), you don't know what weapon the monk uses, and he's assumed to use whatever he wants.

Note that Greater Magic Fang will increase one natural attack by 1/4 HD or all natural attacks by 1 - this seems to be the monk option. If a monk is to benefit from Improved Natural Weapon, he should probably take it several times - which makes the feat useless to monks, IMO (they're opportunists, not destroyers).

Well, the natural weapons of a human is a 1d3 punch. The increased damage isn't through the "increaded natural weapon feat" but through training.

That said, it would be kinda cool feat if it did work :)

Wait a second.

From the 3.5 SRD:
A monk’s unarmed strike is treated both as a manufactured weapon and a natural weapon for the purpose of spells and effects that enhance or improve either manufactured weapons or natural weapons.

If what you're saying is true then Monks have the choice of getting a maximum +1 bonus from Greater Magic Fang, or getting a maximum +5 bonus from Greater Magic Weapon.

Back to the feat:
Would people allow a fighter to take this feat and increase his unarmed damaged from 1D3 nonleathal to 1D4 nonleathal?

How about druids? If they take this feat do they increase the die for a natural attack form no matter what the wildeshape? Say Increased Natural Attack (Bite). Would a druid in bear or viper forms get the advantage of the feat, or would the druid have to take Increased Natural Attack (Bear, Bite), and Increased Natural Attack (Viper, Bite)?
