In need of a Pirate Ship(s)

Ok,

Going to be running a Freeport Pirate game soon, and it will be the first game in 6 years I'll be able to run at home & take full adavantage of all my miniatures.

I am looking for a Pirate Ship (in around the 28 MM size) for this game.

I tried Pet-Co (aquarium pieces often work quite well), but no luck.

Anyone know where I can get a decent ship I can load with 20 or so Goblins?

Price isn't that big of an issue (I'm not laying out $5,000 for some guy to hand build an replica of a Spanish Galleon), but as this game should run 3-4 years (others have), I'm willing to lay out more for an investment.

If you can find it somewhere Flying Tricycle has (had?) a sailing ship suitable for 28mm minis (there is no grid on the ship though). We used 2 of them in a 50 Fathoms game.

Flying Tricycle (there is a "Sailing Ship" listed at the bottom of the page, but with no picture I can't say that if it is the right one): http://www.flyingtricycle.com/Products/Miniature_Wargame_Accessories/Fantasy.html

A pic of one of the 2 ships we used (note he added pieces to the kit and painted it): http://spielorjh.deviantart.com/art/The-Dark-Maiden-29631488

There's a great balsa wood ship deck they had at GenCon. You can lift off the layers to reveal the lower decks. I know Piratecat has one, hopefully he'll stop by and let you know the company.

Hiya, Vraille! Long time, no lyrics. :)

If you do not mind printing out some 2d ships, I do this sometimes and then glue-stick them to foam board, you can get a number of freebie deck plans (scroll down) -

I do not recall where you might be located but I happen to know a guy, we were just talking today, who is trying to unload about half a dozen ships that I am told would work with medieval minis games (he did not give me a brand name, but I could find out), the kind that sit flat with the table surface as the water line, good for 25mm/28mm figs. I believe they are the resin model types, meant for this purpose and need to be painted, though I do not know if these particular ones already are. Drop me an email if you'd like me to look into this further. Wouldn't be a bother as I was planning to check them out myself anyway.

World Works has a cardstock ship model that looks very nice. I have not actually purchased this product, but I have a couple of their dungeon sets and found them to be of good quality.
This is an extremely nice model. A more complex build than some, but the ship is big - about 28 inches long.

My favorite set from World Works, and well worth the time and trouble put into building it. It is both big and beautiful. :)

A fairly complete how to can be found on the Reaper Miniatures forum - here.

The Auld Grump, who used it for Mordheim and 7th Sea.
