Bingo. I understand most movies based on a real story have problems with accuracy, but I had never heard that there were African American mathematicians working for the United States during the Gemini Program or the the space race as a whole. So it was nice just to learn of their existance.

If you haven't seen the movie "Hidden Figures", it's well worth the time. While heavily fictionalized there are certain things, like how the "Coloured calculators" were treated by the White staff, segregated washrooms being quite limited, etc., are pretty damned accurate.

Hadn't heard the story before the movie came out, seems clear.
