Incantatrix - giving up school question

Don't have my books with me, and need an answer as to where to find something. I have seen it said on this board that when a wizard gives up a new school at lvl 1 incantatrix, he/she still has access to spells of that school previously known... Can anyone ref as to the location of this in either the books, or SRD? Thanks.

This is correct in the case of Red Wizards, so I assume it is the same for the Incantrix.

However, I houserule that the spells are lost to make it easier on bookkeeping what is allowed/unallowed - just easier to tell when all spells of a certain type are lost.

FWIW, I don't mean to be snippy - I just read the OP's question to be "Where is the page reference?" Since I don't know it off-hand, Crystalkeep should have it.

The problem is that it's not in the 3.5 books - it's stated specificly in the 3.0 book (not sure which one) which contains the prestige class, but not in the 3.5 class. Red Wizards, which apparently worked the same way in 3.0 and still work that way in 3.5, suggests that you're supposed to play them the same way.

The 3.0 rules were posted by Wizards here: http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/ex/20010803, if you don't have the original book.
