Incense of Meditation - multiple users?

hey all...

Incense of Meditation: This small rectangular block of sweet smelling incense is visually indistinguishable from nonmagical incense until lit. When it is burning, the special fragrance and pearly-hued smoke of this special incense are recognizable by anyone making a DC 15 Spellcraft check.
When a divine spellcaster lights a block of incense of meditation and then spends 8 hours praying and meditating nearby, the incense enables him to prepare all his spells as though affected by the Maximize Spell feat. However, all the spells prepared in this way are at their normal level, not at three levels higher (as with the regular metamagic feat).
Each block of incense burns for 8 hours, and the effects persist for 24 hours.
Moderate enchantment; CL 7th; Craft Wondrous Item, Maximize Spell, bless;
Price 4,900 gp; Weight 1 lb.

Now... my question.

Can multiple divine casters benefit from one burning block... assuming they all spend the 8 hours meditating nearby?
thanks...

I would say no. What I could use for argument is the following sentence (although it is a very poor argument, I warn you :)):

When a divine spellcaster lights a block of incense of meditation and then spends 8 hours praying and meditating nearby

So there are 2 conditions to benefit from the incense: You have to be the one that lights it AND you have to meditate for 8 hours.

If that is unacceptable, then, yes, why couldn't many divine casters benefit from the incense? I WOULD pose a limit on how many people can benefit from it, though, since a single block of incense isn't enough to fill a big chapel (for example).

I allow multiple folks to benefit from incense of meditation, but I don't have a ruling to back it up or anything; just seems logical.

I'd say you could probably get, oh, everyone within 15' of the incense...

no

I would just say no to sharing. Not because I am greedy or anything... I am just saying that because it is a block doesn't mean that it is the size of a brick. A block can be as small as a quarter of an inch squared, not providing that much smoke to get everywhere in a 15' radius. Also, just because you can smell the incense doesn't mean that you will get it's full effects. I would imagine that you are sitting right in front of your censor and the smoke is wrapping all around you and whatnot. Think of certain religions: muslims bring in a little rug when they pray. Does that mean that if you can squeeze 5 people on the little rug they all get saved? No. They must each buy their own little rug.
