Increase Base Speed

Or stock up on a few Potions of Haste, or similar.

Or take the Martial Study feat from Tome of Battle: Book of Nine Swords, to learn the Wind Stride maneuver for a +10 ft. enhancement bonus to speed for 1 round, once per encounter.

Or take the Martial Study feat for an Iron Heart maneuver, like Steel Wind, Disarming Strike, or Wall of Blades (all have no prerequisites, except that you'll need to be at least 6th-level to pick up either of the latter two, or at least 2nd-level to pick up the former). Then take the Martial Stance feat at 10th-level or later, to gain the Absolute Steel Stance, which provides a constant +10 enhancement to base speed and a small AC bonus when you move at least 10 feet.

If you do the 1 level cleric dip, get that Divine Feat that gives temporary hitpoints and adds movement speed. Divine Vigor?

I just saw a feat and thought of this thread...

Forgotten Realms regional feat from the PGtFR (3.5) called Fleet of Foot. Adds +10' to the base and specifically states that it stacks with any other speed enhancing bonus.

The best part about this one is if anyone asks why you are so fast, you can shrug and say, "I got the Fleet Feet feat." :D

Speed of Thought and Barbarian (even a dwarf) will not work when wearing full plate.

Speed of Thought - only works when wearing heavy armor (and psionically focused - which would mean another feat to become psionic{wild talent}).

Barbarian extra movement only works when wearing up to medium armor and lightly encumbered (an arguement could be made that encumbrance can go away in this case for a dwarf - but the RAW doesn't say he is not encumberd only that his speed is not affected, but the fact that full plate is heavy armor won't).

Now if it was mithral full plate then the armor is treated as medium armor and things can work out differently. . .

Just to clarify...

"As long as you are psionically focused and not wearing heavy armor, you gain an insight bonus to your speed of 10 feet."

I know you know, but didn't want anyone to get confused.

If you have a willing spellcaster this can be less feat intensive but from Magic of Incarnum you could take the feats Shape Soulmeld (Worg Pelt), Open Least Chakra (feet), and Bonus Essentia.

After investing the two essentia into the Worg Pelt and binding it into your feet chakra you will have +1 insight on balance and move silently, +6 competence on hide and move silently, and your base landspeed is increased by +15' untyped.

There is a 7th level spell that will allow you to skip the Open Least Chakra (feet) feat for 24 hours of use. There is also a 2nd/3rd level spell that grants temporary essentia so if you were able to get this cast with persistant on it or in an item that would allow you to skip the Bonus Essentia feat and it could even allow you to get more speed based on your level and how much essentia the spell gave you.

If you take the Split Chakra (feet) feat then you may use a magic item in that slot while having the soulmeld bound.

If you take levels in Totemist, one of the incarnum classes, you can get around most or all of the feats.

As an example, at level 12 you could have the Worg Pelt bound to both your totem chakra (which does not correspond to an item slot) and your feet chakra at the same time. With the Expanded Soulmeld Capacity feat and a pair of Incarnum boots you could have 6 points of essentia invested into the Worg Pelt which would increase your base land speed by +35', +14 competence to hide and move silently, and give you a natural weapon bite attack dealing d6 +1/2 strength (as secondary weapon, may be used with your other weapons) +6 enhancement (to attack and damage). If you use one of those 12 levels on a class that gains medium armor proficiency along with some other benefits then you are set. Mithril plate is still the way to go though.
