Some character classes grant an increased speed, Barbarian, Monk and Scout for example. Some character races allow more than one movement mode such as land speed and a Climb speed or a land speed and a Swim speed.
Does the character class speed increase apply to both modes of movement or is it exclusive to just one?
If it is exclusive to just one of the movement modes does the player chose which gets the bonus? Is this choice a permanent feature?
Can a player split up the speed increase between the two movement modes? Example: a Monk has both a land speed and a Swim speed. He puts his first +10 speed increase into his land speed. When he gets his second speed increase he puts it into his Swim speed. He continues to alternate until at 20th level he has a +30 speed increase to both of his movement modes.
If this last option is not allowed within the rules would it be unbalancing?
TIA
