Increasing traffic Thru Ebay for PDF's

Hey publishers.

I'm trying something new (for us at least). I posted all of our books on Ebay as a single CD. Every picture and title links directly to RPGNow. In fact, it amounts to a big ad for RPGNow. :)

If you wish to check out the auction, it's:

If anyone has tried methods like this before, I'd be interested in hearing how it worked out for you.

I've been slowly replacing my AD&D 1 & 2 books with PDFs, so I auction off the physical books on ebay. I've also been selling off a lot of the duplicate Cyberpunk 2020 books I've ended up with over the years. Every time I sell one, I add a CD to the package containing a PDF to one of my books and an HTML catalog that links directly to the items on RPGnow. I'm glad to say that doing that has lead to 1 in 3 ebay buyers going to RPGnow to buy one book or another that I've published.

It's kind of like selling drugs; the first dose is free, then you pay for the rest after you're hooked. :D

Dana -

That's a fantastic idea. Now I need to go beat myself in the head with something hard (because I sold all of my 1e and 2e stuff prematurely three years ago when 3e came out).

Be careful though - I've seen people try to sell CD's full of pirated WotC pdf's... if someone mistakes your auction for one of those, you could potentially get your auction shut down. I think. Label clearly, I guess. :)

He specifically states in the item description that he is the publisher of these books.
