Index Card Character Sheets

I hate character sheets. So big and unorganized. I'd much rather have a set of 3-4 flashcards: 1 for combat, one for magic and special abilities, one for skills and feats, and then one for 'other'. Front only or front/back. Does anyone know if this kind of thing exists? I think I'd find that much easier to use than a character sheet.

I've tried designing my own, but I suck at it. :(

I've been known to use an ancient laptop computer to keep things straight. You don't need much of one, really. Just something to type into and a display to read.

I've done this for NPCs... just type up a standard Stat Block, and print it out on a 4x6 card.

I don't think you'll find any Index Card character sheets, though... You'd never be able to fit all the possible skills on it.

It would probably just have blanks, where you fill in the name. That's part of what I dislike about character sheets, all those unneeded spaces.

I already use index cards for Feng Shui, but then, you only need like 4 lines for that.

Body 5 Chi 5 Mind 7 Reflexes 7 (Speed 9)
Guns 15 Deciet 13 Martial Arts 12 I/Gangs 11 Drive 11 Intrusion 10 Sorcery 10
Carnival of Carnage x2, Both Guns Blazing, Blast, Movement
Colt 1911A 10 / 2 / 7 / +1, Blast 7

Viola. Mage with guns.

This is exactly what I do- I have index cards (the "holepunched" kind), with key PC and NPC information on them. The trick, I've found, is to buy the index cards you can print on (i.e., from a computer printer). That way, you can fit tons of information on them without worrying about them being illegible (or getting hand cramps... :)). I keep all of the cards handy in one of those small 3X5 binders- perfect for fitting behind my DM screen. :)
