That's bizarre. I game mostly with indie gamers and we all wear the tag proudly. I'd game with any other indie gamers in a heartbeat. Where do we find the term used negatively?

The terminology (while used intentionally to cause a spark) was derived from conversations with gamers at game and comic book stores and some conventions.

The point being that gamers that play mainstream games are sometimes put off by the perceived attitudes of those who exclusively play independent games.

But the point of the episode is to showcase some of the ideas in indie games that are quite good, and how some are being used by the mainstream (ahem... D&D Next?).
