Not me. Enough on Waterdeep has been published already. I'd be just fine if they held off until the publication of that Waterdeep novel in '05.

Or, since the novel is set in current Realms times per one of the author's, you'd think they might hold off on the 3.5e Waterdeep supplement until closer to the novel's publication to incorporate any changes that take place.

Of course, some might have thought they would have done that with the Underdark supplement due to the War of the Spider Queen series ongoing. We all see where those thoughts ended up. ;)

Thankyouverymuch. It will be more of a challenge making the Waterdeep sourcebook substantially new material than with other regions, since there's no much essential basic stuff to set out, and City of Splendors and Volo's Guide to Waterdeep did such a good job. Even more so if half the book is rules crud.

Undermountain is definitely its own book, and not one that Wizards would publish under a No Adventure Books policy. No Dungeon of the Crypt, either...

Since the Realms was a setting for fiction before it was used for D&D, having the novels be canonical is no great stretch.

I'm all for rules crud. The new more player-oriented region splats are fine by me.

I'd like to see the Waterdeep book chock full of materials for an urban setting. Waterdeep itself is well-documented, but a long hard look at adventures in the Big City would be a welcome addition to 3.5.

Hey, some correction. Whomever quoted me for the scoop on the front page. I was talking about Rich Baker, not Rich Redman.

Rich Redman owns TGM (with JD Wiker and Stan!) and currently works in WOTC Licensing.

Rich Baker is the R&D Guru for Forgotten Realms at WOTC.

Please email morrus to fix it.

Also, here is some MORE Scoopage for you!

This comes from Garen who helps me spy out the WOTC Forums since i have no time.

Rich BAKER has confirmed WATERDEEP for 2005! (not 2004) The book will be released around the same time as the novel. You guys were right.

I don't see what the big deal is about finding new material for the Waterdeep book. First, you just add in the race that has long been thought gone, but has now returned as they did in FRCS, Unapproachable East, and Underdark.

The rest is downhill, right? ;)
