Inherent Bonuses and Polymorph/Wild Shape; Or, Druid Wildshape Smackdown!

Like who? I have a feeling that you didn't talk to too many people...

(Because I've participated in several such threads and I've never seen any sort of consensus beyond, possibly, that the letter of the rules allow you to keep inherent bonuses in a new form.)

Actually, I posted on both Sean Reynold's and Monte Cook's boards. There were several discussions about this when MotW came out and many people were interested in Shifters. My main character is a shifter so I wanted to get the rules straight.

spoony - nobody much cares what linguistic shenanigans people may play with 3.5 rules passages: it's apparent to most people that successful grapple checks during an opponent's turn do not do damage.

Similarly, it's apparent that with Improved Grapple & Constrict, there are 'only' 2 damage-dealings per successful grapple, not 3.

It's fairly clear in the FAQ, if memory serves.

(as if 2 high-STR damage-dealings per grapple wasn't enuff  )

In all honesty, I wasn't trying to play "linguistic shenanagans", I read the books and I thought this was right.

I'll look in the FAQ for exceptions, but that's why I asked people: Does this sound right? I'm really just trying to find out how Improved Grab works, as I never really understood it.

Thank you.

Whats the item that lets you wildshape as if 4 levels higher of druid? I believe it was changed and lost that ability in 3.5. Or is there another item that does it even though I bet it won't make it if it was "updated" anyways.

Just wondering where that item was because I made a druid 3.5 and DM said oh get that +4 wild shape item and I thought it was druids vestments which no longer work that way.

Thanks
