What is Burning Man? And just what is CMG Mark talking (posting?) about?

As it is, I happen to be a huge fan of the D20 System & 3.5. I sold all my first edition material due to lack of use and haven't regretted it. I still hold onto my 2nd edition supply.Mark CMG said:Invest in some D&D collectible items, like first printings of stuff.

I really don't want to invest, and even if I did buy older stuff, it would not go unused. I'm picky about the older material that I buy, because it needs to be specific for what I am lacking in my homebrew (conversion purposes).
All I want in the way of reccomendations are alternate products that may have been received better.
