Ok, a few of my personal opinions here... You are always going to get characters being killed. Why? Because this is a RPing game with some serious dangers in it. Yes, the killing can be taken through to the appropriate combat room, but so long as it isn't a "fight", there is no OOC rule preventing the kill from taking place in another room. There have been many pc and npc kills in the Tavern or Emporium. In the Emporium it does become an ic law issue if reported to the law, the CRT is a little more chaotic there. The killing of child characters may actually be part of someone's story. Eg, _______ is stupid enough to let the son of their ruler wander around without a guard, the enemy takes the child as revenge payment for the ongoing deaths of their people because of what the ruler is doing... I don't know. It is a realisitic situation especially historically. >< So the act in itself may be a needed part of their story, and if the character was known they may decide it should be done where characters that knew them find out themselves. The line is probably whether or not the way it is played is offensive etc. Taking it to the combat room would take care of a lot of that as other players not involved wouldn't get the full impact. If the play is at all graphic, it shouldn't be there anyway. Now, from what I've heard of this it was an attention seeking player/character killing npcs and being utterly gross. The logs have been checked, the warns issued. At the time, it was not known of by ISRP WizOs and had to be done in retrospect. (Hey, we're still human and can't be everywhere at once:( ) But really the rule is always the same: If you see something that you think is inappropriate, tell the player in PMs. If they go on reguardless, report it to a WizO via PM or grab the room name and time and do it in an email. If you don't want to see anything in the meanwhile, /ignore them. Don't stop to tell them, just do it. Personally, I'd love to have age restriction on PCs. TMP has more-or-less age restrictions, although I know there are ways to get around it. >< But we can't enforce age restrictions, even when TMP begins, because we are not permitted to toss out characters that are unsuitable unless there is a CoC violation and just being there isn't enough for Room Disruption. What we need for that is a lil friendly peer pressure - Other players advising players of inappropriate characters that perhaps it's a bit silly for a 3yr old child to be wandering the streets alone, and suggesting something else for them to play. (Or if you really think its something that we mods should be controlling, then write to the bosses. ;) ) - Pounamu
