Instead of Serenity, you saw...

It looks like the wait for Serenity to DVD will only be a little over two months(Dec 20th). Of course I am in the seen it multiple times in the theatre crowd because I loved the show and movie.

If you can find it in a theatre Mirrormask was the last flim I saw. If you like the visual style of Gaiman's graphic novels it is a cool dark fairytale.

Next for me will be Wallace & Grommit. I will also see Corpse Bride at some point although the reviews I have heard paint it as a little disappointing.

I understand Firefly not being for everyone, I personally don't get the new Battlestar Galactica despite repeated viewings and the raving of those around me.

Interesting that we in the small group that's responded so far that they've seen Serenity multiple times.

Is it just a RPG thing or ? The reality does not reflect this crowd yet.
It's definitely an RPG thing. Firefly was a show for geeks, and Serenity is a movie for geeks. The majority of the American movie-going population does not share our tastes.

That said, I went to go see Wallace and Gromit. Good movie.

Demiurge out.

Haven't seen anything between Batman Begins (after Mr. & Mrs. Smith and Episode III, which was the first time I'd ever caught movies in theaters on three weekends in a row) and Serenity; haven't seen anything since.

Saw Serenity last Friday, great film, hopefully I'll get a chance to fit in a second viewing before it departs the cinema.
But going to see Corpse Bride next... I've also been really looking forward to Mirrormask, but I haven't seen it on anywhere (though it might be just taking a while to get to old Blighty).

Instead of Serenity, I saw NOTHING. I haven't actually been to a movie for a couple of months, I don't think. Last thing I saw was War of the Worlds with Tom Cruise, whenever that came out. The closest thing I've done is I purchased the second season of the Pretender and I have been enjoying that immensely.

I'm beginning to think TV seasons are the way to go. 30-45$ for 20+ episodes, each of which is about 45 mins, as opposed to 10-25$ for a single movie which is about 1.5-2.5 hours on Dvd or 10$ to see a single movie once.

Also, I've never seen the series and don't really know much about it [Though admittedly I haven't spent a lot of time looking for info]. I know one person who says how awesome it is, but hasn't really said anything beyond that. *shrug*

I saw Corpse Bride, but I wasn't going to see Serenity in the first place. I don't know the first thing about Firefly, the setting, the characters, or anything.

I'm with you on this one. I've been buying the starburst Farscape editions and really enjoying them. Generally TV shows on DVD do seem to be a good value, espescially if you can find the sets used!
