I saw Serenity when it came out. Then this past weekend I saw Oliver Twist. Great film.

Last weekend I was in Las Vegas with my brother and we considered seeing a movie one night. I had originally wanted to see Serenity, but we wound up watching Fantastic Four in the hotel room. It was better than I expected it to be.

Sadly, I haven't been able to see a movie in the theatre in a couple months now 
Last thing I saw in a theatre was Charlie & the Chocolate Factory.
I'd love to see Corpse Bride, Wallace & Gromit (hmmm, maybe it's a Helena Bonham Carter-thing?), and Oliver Twist -- I doubt I'll see any of them, due to finances.
That being said, I don't think it is even just the fact that this is an rpg/geek board that we are getting a comparatively high response. I know a lot of people who are into gaming and a lot of self-described geeks who have little-to-no interest in Serenity while I have run into a number of folks not into either who did decide to go see it -- kind of a weird mix that way, actually...

I haven't seen anything at the theaters since March of the Penguins.
No Serenity, have never been interested in Joss Whedon's work, and the trailers were just so uninspired they made it look like it was going to be a cheap Star Wars knock-off with more one-liners. At best it looked like a cross between Wing Commander and the Chronicles of Riddick. No thanks.
But I never seem to enjoy movies that are made solely for professional critics and the RPG/comic book crowd (didn't like Kill Bill, never had any desire to watch Sin City.)

I haven't seen any movies since Serenity, although I almost went to see Into the Blue last weekend because a bikini-clad Jessica Alba is just too tempting to ignore (in fact, there's a good chance I'll go see it this weekend 
). I am really looking forward to the new Zorro movie coming out, though.
I'm not surprised that Serenity isn't doing well. Although I like Firefly (I recently purchased the box set and am re-watching all of the episodes), I can recognize that the movie dosen't have a lot of appeal unless you are a fan of the TV series.
