There is also the dakon from the 1e Fiend Folio, which (IIRC) also appeared in the 2e FF MC Appendix and there was a bit note on them in the 2e Monstrous Manual. Intelligent apes indeed.

The Apelord is a very good product, with lots of great fluff, and it already has 4e rules.

Too bad OBE isn't publishing stuff anymore. I really enjoyed their products.
