Greetings,

Version 2.0 of Interactive Dungeon is now available at http://www.geocities.com/trainz_ca/ID

It is a map making software that includes the following features:

-Create Dungeon and Wilderness maps and print them
-Use the computer to explore the map as part of an ongoing pen and paper role-playing session
-Zoom in the currently explored map to resolve a combat encounter with icons representing the players and monsters, with segment to segment, round to round calculator
-Sound effects.

Download it, you wont regret it, especially if you play your games with a computer next to you with speakers.

It is Freeware.

Pretty handy program. I was wondering though if maybe you could add a grid color change. I would like to use this for ship combat in Star Wars, and would like to have a black background with maybe a funky green grid. Also, could you get just the grid to go fullscreen? I would then try and make my own star ships, and using an s-video cable out of my laptop, go to a larger TV.

Great work friend!

Sorry, but at this point of the program, this is not feasible. However, if you want to fool around with it, go in the icons folder and alter them. I don't think that should bug the program, but make sure you keep the exact same size and name for the icon.

I would like to get some feedback on the combat planner from people who downloaded ID. I (we, my players) think this is what E-Tools should have been, especially with AoO and Flanking, and Area of effect of spells...

We have been using the combat planner in our games, and we cannot play without it anymore. It speeds up combat so much, and gives us the advantage of playing with minis, with the layout of the room... it is just such an advantage.

So, there's no way you can change the grid map picture? I mean if you like to do an outdoor battlemap, you can't change it from blank-white to earth-brown or forest green, or golden plains, or city-paved?

You can change the backgroung colors easily right click in the square that you want or you chan change the whole background. very interesting.

A zoom function would be cool. I'm sure someone has already suggested a few more icons and perhaps diagonal lines (diagonals might be better done as icons?)

Trainz, you have done a fine job here.

You can Zoom, but that is a feature of the integrated combat planner.

Guys, I STRONGLY invite you to go read the features of ID on the website, from what I can tell, you are probably only using 50% of ID's features.

Why thank you ! Although I didn't do the programming itself: my partner Jerome did. ID was my original concept, and I took care of the sounds and Icons, but he is the brains behind it all.

How long until we see diagonal lines?

We have been tinkering with that aspect of ID...

Probably a long time from now. The fact is, each square is so full of properties, and movement is based on the squares. Making properties adjust to half-squares with a 45o angle is not easy.

We are working with a different scheme of how the map is exposed when you execute it, and when this is implemented, we might be able to toy around with diagonals, but that is a way off... right now, we will hold on coding for a while now that version 2 is out. For a while...
