have you considered making icons that have the diagonal lines in them?

Yes.

But that brought up some more problems... what would happen when you move the party icon through squares that have the diagonal pic in it... it would looke funny, seeing the icon phase in and out of a diagonal "wall"...

It is feasable, but we just didn't bother at this point. We might though...

Don't hold your breath. :-)

Right click on the wall section, you'll get options to delete then.

Thanks for the assistance Herald.

So far, 685 people downloaded ID.

I would like some feedback...

Do you use it in games ?

Do you use the Combat Planner to resolve your combats ?

What's the deal with this interest in diagonal lines? Do people use them? Why?

I think that the interest of diagonal lines is mainly to make more "rounded" rooms and diagonal corridors.

Many WotC modules have diagonal lines in them.

I think you can go around that problem by making corridors with a stair-like shape. Not super elegant, but it would still work if you want to remap a module.

Other suggestions for improvement I have are changeing the colour of an unknown section so that it is different to a wall section. Both are black so its not obvious when you come to a wall, it might just be the end of your vision.

Also a larger scale would be nice as an option. If I were using it from a laptop it might be difficult for people to see the detail from the other end of the table.

Also, is it possible to save the map as a graphic file (bmp/jpg/gif) for inclusion in a scenario write-up.

All in all though, so far so good - keep up the good work!

Thanks for your feedback.

You can easilly take a snapshot of your ID map by hitting the Print Screen key and doing a Paste in Windows Paint (included in your Start/Programs/Accessories menu). You can then save as a BMP or JPG (depending on your versino of Windows).

Bug Report

We have found a bug that we will be fixing soon (working on it now).

For now, when using the Combat Planner, do not put a Player or Monster Icon on a square occupied by props (chairs, torches, column...).
