Interesting class combination

I am getting ready to run a couple of characters in 2 games (1 in each) and something crossed my mind.

One PC is a warlock/ranger (a demon hunter) - yeah I know this is a realy subotimal combination especaially since I'm only planinng on taking 1 level of ranger. But it is important themeatically so I can get favored enemy outsider (evil).

Well anyway my other PC will be a fighter/soulknife - since I really love soulknives.

But it occured to me that a warlock/soulknife would be a really interesting combination. While, again really subotimal since there is pretty much no way to gain back the levels lost for soulknife for the warlock - and it would take the practiced mindblade feat (from Dragon magazine) to get up to 4 levels back for the soulknife.

But this class combination is interesting. It needs to have no visible weapons. the warlock gets great ranged weapons and the soulknife gets great (well pretty good) melee weapons. If using a high dex and weapon finesse the sort sword version of the mindblade can work failry well.

The character can wear light armor with no penalty to either class.

By taking combat caster (and the appropriate armor proficiency feat) the class can move up to medium armors. Armor has no effect on the mindblade.

The class can be real stealthy and non-descript, until a fight breaks out.

Devil's Sight and Hungry Darkness make for an interesting combination IMO. Well my DM treats darkness as drkness not that shadowing light thing it became in 3.5 (but that is a house rule that only makes this a better combination of invocations).

I really like barbarian 1/specialist wizard 6/eldritch knight. You start off with a good hit point boost, and you get nearly full caster progression with nearly full BAB. The specialist bonus is nice, and the drawbacks are compensated by the fact the character does more than just sling spells. You get fast movement, and your familiar, if you go that route, is unusually sturdy. Improved familiar (winter wolf)?

A lot of people think cleric/rogues have gotten the fuzzy end of the lollipop. However, I really like rogue 1/cleric, taking an additional rogue level every three to four levels. At 20th level, a rogue 4/cleric 16 is a formidable caster with very good scouting and rogue abilities. Your sneak attack isn't much, but that's kind of redundant with flamestrike, anyway. :)
