Interesting core-rules character builds

I came very close to running Ignatius T. Thwockpoddle: the pistol-packing (DMG) gnome conjurer with an unhealthily close relationship to his cat familiar and various summoned "friends" who's out for vengeance against the cultists that killed dear, *sob*, Fluffy I.

They shot his "paw?!?!?"

With the Lazy GM stuff I had some fun with the UA race and class variants plus templates.

Fire Hobgoblin Aspected Druid with the emphasis on movement and fire spells.
Jungle goblin vampire fighter - I can picture it leaping through the trees and scurrying up walls.
Jungle kobold barbarian were-velociraptor (this last being a bit of a fudge with the size of the dinosaur).
Savage bards and druidic avengers are good fun too.

Putting classes with creatures was interesting too. The 'rabid' worg (with barbarian levels) ought to be a fun surprise for players, as will be the vampiric dire weasels!

I've got a goblin wolf-riding druid that I've never goten to play.

Another fun one was a plain ol' human illusionist. What made him fun was the craft skills I picked up for him: I made him an artist, calligrapher and a painter. He had modded all his wands to look like paint brushes, and illustrated all his spellbooks so they looked like art books to the untrained observer. Material components were kept in paint pots.

He could waltz right in to most places that would restrict the activities of spellcasters, with his full complement of wizard's gear, because he didn't look at all like a spellcaster. Best kind of illusion you can have; hiding in plain sight ;)

Currently designing a 6th level Half-Black Dragon, Lloth-Touched, Barbarian Half-Orc for an arena match we are fighting.

Are psionics considered 'core' now? They're in the SRD, right?

If so, a gnomish paladin/psionicist who uses a brilliant energy rapier.

Obi Gnome Kenobi.

You know a warhammer is smaller than a heavy mace, right? 5 pounds versus 8 according to the PHB.

That's ok that it's a little bit smaller...it's just a 'precision' mace for battlefield lobotomies.

Thanks,
Rich
