D&D 4E Interesting Data Points With New 4e Players

Crazy is it not! An interesting poll (in the General section) would be "Do you know someone who dislikes The Princess Bride." This is quite literally the first such person I've met. It was flooring. Its easily one of the most charming (if not the most) movies of all time.
Well, I watched the movie last year for the first time, specifically, because it had been mentioned so often on this board. What can I say? I didn't really get what the fuzz is about. I though it was a pretty mediocre comedy. Not totally bad, but also nothing to write home about. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone except comedy-nuts who tend to read everything from Terry Pratchett and similar authors.

This is brilliant. Are you meaning to pitch to her a modern character that is lost in time? If so, that a fantastic idea. Even if that isn't what you meant, I'm going to do that anyway! She shouldn't have any trouble with that. Thanks!

Yeah, I was thinking either a modern character, or a more 'noir' type character suited to a style of fiction she knows and enjoys. Either way, dropping them into a standard fantasy setting will make for some fun juxtapositions, and hopefully give her some solid footing to proceed from.
