Interesting thoughts about the announcements at gencon

Basically have 2 questions. The relevant video is here http://www.twitch.tv/wotc_dnd/b/328881758 it's the keynote that was held on Aug 16th 2012.

This first is the announcement about the 2 reams adventures next year. Since it was reported that fifth wouldnt be here for 2 years what system do they intend to use ? 4 th edition would be the most reasonable choice, but it seems they dropped that ball quick. So will we use 5th play test? Seems in that case they are just toying with us about it not being ready... Thoughts?

Second question about the PDF announcement. Itseems for the couple of years wizards dnd funds will come from that cash cow but here's the kicker. Will these PDFs contain all the eratta when the 4 Ed books come out? I understand that this applies to all releases but no other edition has has a ton of eratta. This would be an instant purchase for me.

Wow, that's really long. Is there an executive summary out there somewhere?

Nevermind. I went and found the story and read it myself.

1) I suspect 4e. They're trying to keep a valid revenue stream out of it by putting their best foot forward with the adventures, I bet.

2) Who knows? They didn't even confirm that they'd be pdf. Electronic format could be all kinds of things. Might be Kindle files for all we know.

They said it would take two years and I do not think anyone reasonably expected 5E until Gencon 2013 at the earliest.

As for the adventures, I really do not know. They are putting out two system neutral books this month and in the fall, and Neverwinter was pretty close to systemless as well.

Well, to be specific, they said electronically, not necessarily pdf, so I do not know how that will work.

I would also like to see 4E errata on the 4e pdfs as the flow of errata has slowed to a trickle recently, so it looks like the system is how they want it.

I personally do not care much about format as long as I can download it and read it on the device of my choice without an active internet connection.

well... I figured a thought can be anything from a statement to a question. A thought (in my mind) is simply a musing of a particular subject. My thoughts simply happen to be in the form of a question. Of course interesting is entirely subjective.

I was wondering that as well. A couple of options spring to mind:

- They could well release them online, in three different versions (1st, 3e, 4e). Or release them as physical 4e products, with online conversion guides.

- They could do as they did with Keep on the Shadowfell, and include a proto-5e rules booklet for use with the adventures.
