Why not go with being a bit more vague, call it something along the lines of 'unknown magic'.

Using latin based words, I suggest Ignotomancy.

But I think an even better word would be Xenomancy.

The handy thing is that you can probably let either word define whatever type of magic you want.

:\ I consider that more of a flaw than a bonus. I mean, if that's your criteria, why not just call it Bob-o-mancy?

The name should at least give hints as to what the school entails. And if the name happens to educate the ignorant and reward the well-read, then I'd be following in the footsteps of giants. ;)

What about Vergemancy, in the sense of both verge as boundary, and "on the verge of" in the sense of just at the instant before happening or the transition point between states of being/places?
