Folks, please read my whole post before replying. Thanks!

In the next week or two we may have the opportunity to ask Wizards management a few questions about their new pdf policy (and perhaps D&D or WotC in general). As such, what would you like to know? Please post below, giving me a question or two that you'd be interested to see the answer to. We'll never be able to ask all of them, but we'll be sorting through these and picking the best or most interesting. The final Q&A will be published on the news site once it's completed.

BUT --

I sympathize that a lot of folks are frustrated or angry about the suspension of pdf sales, but this really isn't the opportunity for you to vent. I want this Q&A to tell us some answers that we couldn't learn any other way, not to level someone with hostility or trick questions. I'm just going to skip over it if your suggested question is an attack in disguise, so I'd appreciate it if you give some thought to phrasing. Finally, we'll close this thread and unsticky it once we have enough questions.

Thanks! So, what do you want to know?

A couple:

Will out-of-print previous edition material be made available for sale again? If so, will they be a standard format that I can download and keep, or will I have to log on to a subscription service?

If it is too early to answer the above, when will you be making those decisions?

Thanks to the mods, etc, for organizing the interview. Hope it goes through!

The announcement specified that WotC was looking into "alternate means" of electronic copy distribution.

My question is--as both a writer and a 4E fan who enjoys gaining inspiration, and doing research, from older materials--are such means being examined solely for Fourth Edition, or will out of print classic prodcuts (adventures, boxed sets, etc.) also be included?

Why remove already established pdfs from the marketplace rather than simply announcing that future product would not be published in that format?

1) Since you no longer have to pay a certain percentage to RPGnow, will your 4e PDFs be cheaper than they were before?

2) When will we once again be able to purchase 4e PDFs?

3) When we will be able to purchase PDFs of older edition material?

Is your new policy a way of increasing sales of 4th edition products by reducing the availability of electronic copies of products from earlier editions?

I think it is assumed that third party PDF vendors will not sell WotC products in the future. Is this correct? Will we see WotC PDF's at RPGNow and Paizo in the future?

Will out-of-print previous edition material be made available for sale again? If so, will they be a standard format that I can download and keep, or will I have to log on to a subscription service?

If these products will not be made available or a decision has not been made, why not?

Will WotC establish any kind of new communication policy with the public in order to ensure that the community is not caught off-guard (which tends to strengthen the reaction) by moves such as the pulling of the PDFs? If yes, can you elaborate?

1) what do you belive this will do to online piracy?

2) Are there any plans to bring PDF sales in house?

3) How do you respond to people who claim that this act 'proves' that 4e is not selling well?

Will out-of-print previous edition material be made available for sale again? If so, will they be a standard format that I can download and keep, or will I have to log on to a subscription service?

And, for further clarification, would such a "standard format" or subscription service be cross-platform compatible for both Windows and Mac users?
