Interview with d20 writer - me!

I submitted this as a scoop, but thought I'd post it here as well. Nobody's going to toot my horn for me, right? So, anyway, I'm minding my own business when the head-honcho from absolutewrite.com asks if she can interview me. She had never really heard of RPGs before and somehow decided to ask me about them (from surfing to these boards looking for job opportunities to pass onto her readers). How could I say no? You can find the interview here: http://www.absolutewrite.com/specialty_writing/bret_boyd.htm

I kept the angle decidedly d20 since that's where my professional credits are. Let me know what you think! Did I bomb or offer some useful insight? Thanks!

Edit: Damned typos!

I think that's very well done. I'd like to get the opinion of someone outside of gaming, though, if possible; while I think it's understandable for those who don't play D&D, I don't know if it really is (since I do play D&D).

The description of the industry size and gameplay were good.

Good article I'd say. Explaining what an RPG is always seems a hit or miss proposition, even after 20 years of gaming. I've used the improve acting bit as well, though I'll always remember the eureka moment when my roommate's mother said, "Oh, so it's like playin Bridge!" I've never played Bridge, so I am still mystified by this. ;)

Very much so, except it has trolls under it.

Great Interview!

I am intrigued by the Time Travel in d20 stuff. Please tell more. In D&D or more of the SF games?

I am currently writing a full adventure path for TLG called the Cult of Yex. It has time travel interwoven through the story. In fact, when my co-author and I set out to develop the story, we built it around a time travel concept, and it evolved from that original plot element. (The best Star Trek episodes are all time travel stories, after all...)

Anyway, I think we created a time travel story with no paradoxes, at least as far as I can see so far. Anyway I digress....

Please give more info on the time travel stuff! Very interested.
