The look of the program is very sleek, from your screenshots. I like.

Can your program import monsters from the monster builder? Characters from character builder?

Here is a competing program that sort of sets the bar, especially if you plan on making this a non-free program one day: http://wiki.rpg.net/index.php/DnD4eCM

Yes. Creating monsters by copy-paste from the Compendium (or any stat block) is next on my list.

And I plan to make building encounters easy too.

Do you think it makes sense to support the .dnd4e file format, considering that Wizards are discontinuing the product?

I'd say yes. There are still plenty of fans still using the offline tools, and the online export format is likely to be some sort of XML.

There will probably be some updates needed to understand the particulars of whatever the new format is when it comes out, but you're committed to updating the product every someodd days, right? ;)

OK, good point.

Yup, of course!

We are using the program ourselves :)

I'll keep this short because you will find more info (although incomplete :erm:) on the web-site:

4eTurnTracker is a program to help DMs manage a D&D 4th Edition encounter.

I am developing the program as a hobby, and would like to share it with the RPG community. It's free!

Check it out at: http:://4eturntracker.com :)

I use DnD4eCM to track initiative, but your tracker is really a good start and looks promising. :)

First of all, I think you need import from Classic Character Builder and Adventure Tools, but these will come in due time. B-)

Then, I really like the movable task panes and the fact that you can apply direct damage from one creature to its selected target (are multiple targets supported?) If you add powers tracking, healing surges tracking, and attack and damage generation, that would be superb.

Thanks for posting it. Ciao

I apologize if I'm wrong, or if I missed it, but I'd like to suggest another feature for your application that DnD4eCM has that I make liberal use of - it's calculated encounter level. If I add monsters to an encounter, then import my player's PC files, it will tell me what the encounter level is relative to the number and character level of the PCs.

If your application has this, and implements importing of monster files from Adventure Tools, I'd be more than happy to give it a try over DnD4eCM.

Yup. I figured import would be important, but it's good to hear from other user's. This helps to set priorities.

Yes. Select all the targets with shift-click or control-click. Then click on the PACMAN button (the icons are a bit odd, but the were free, hehe ) to add an effect.

 If you add powers tracking,
I guess there are a lot of things that could be done for powers. What would you say is best place to start?

healing surges tracking,
Healing surges are handled. In the "Apply Effects" dialog, in the Healing section you are given the option to use 1 or more HS's. This is only shown if the creature has Healing Surges (which is usually only characters).

Here you can also add Temporary HP (called Trans HP, in FAQ I explain why I use some funny terms, and how you can change them. If Wizards don't mind then I will use the correct terms by default in a later version).

and attack and damage generation, that would be superb.
Would be great, but not trivial... :)

Good to know. That should be easy enough to do when implementing the creature stat block import.
