D&D 4E Introducing 4eTurnTracker!

I like the look of this and how fast it runs. I am currently using DM Battle Screen. It is a notch above ALL the rest out there to handle a 4e combat.

Yours has it beat on quite a few points, most especially the importing of monsters and having their FULL detail on-screen.

But....

It has a few things which are very important to my table top game (& I'm sure others).

I paint my minis w/ a little colored dot, especially those of the same group. With the minis all looking very similar and such, it is easy to lose track of which monster's turn it is. DM Battle Screen allows you to select a color, thus matching the color on the mini. VERY IMPORTANT

2ndly....I do not see an option to add a misc. effect. An example would be a creature hiding. I can use DMBS to add that condition. Stealth:24 listed under the player or monsters name. Also, there is plenty of buffs and debuffs that get floated around a lot, and this is also something DMBS handles superbly. YOu can add any type of condition you want, with your choice of parameters of how it ends.

If these 2 issues are handled, I'm switching over...

Other than that, great work!

Thanks for the feedback!

Yes, this is a cool feature. I'll look into it.

This is planned for the next version (1.0.09).

Great tool

I've been using 4eTurnTracker for running D&D Encounters. It's been a great tool and uses about the same amount of time as writing notes on 5x7 Index cards (my usual method for tracking combat). I find it especially helpful for tracking player HP's and effects because newer players don't always do a good job of tracking this themselves. I'm looking forward to the next release with all the new features and improvements.

I am very glad to hear this, because my most basic goal was to create a program that would be quick (and easy) to use. :D

And so I am pleased to announce that the new release, version 1.0.09, is now available!

This is great news Paul. I downloaded it last night and plan to use it at this week's Encounters session. The party is coming out of an extended rest so I'll be able to update their action points and healing surges.

What's on the to-do list for the next release?

Great, let me know if you notice any problems with the new version.

Good question! I am not sure exactly what will make the next version yet.

But, my goal is to add monster power tracking and automatic rolling of attack and damage for monster attacks, as soon as possible.

On the way to that I plan to "flatten" the dialogs (instead of popping up, they will appear in place of the initiative list).

I also plan to add pre-configurable ongoing effects for Playing Characters at some stage.

I like it. However, my usage of this is somewhat tempered by the expiration date. What if something happens and you can't update it any longer?

Hi psyronin,

I understand your concern.

Basically, I am asking users to trust me on this: if I ever stop developing the program I will release a version without an expiry date.

On the web-site, I explain why the expiry date is necessary at this stage.

Please feel free to drop me a note, if you have further questions about this.

4eTurnTracker 1.5.01 Released!

Hi All,

The new version of 4eTurnTracker is packed with great features!

If you haven't tried it yet, then now is definitely a good time. :)

I explain why in the latest announcement: 4eTurnTracker 1.5.01 tracks Monster Power Usage

And, in 1.5.01 there is a feature just for EN World users!!

I have upgraded the Stat Block parser to handle adventures from Zeitgeist and War of the Burning Sky! Now just copy and paste from the PDF's, to prepare your encounters.

It's really easy...
