Introducing a Child to D&D

The result is "Heather's First Adventure". Let me know what you think!

I am making it available gratis as a Word document for anyone who might like to use it in a similar fashion.

I'm planning to us this with my daughter (age 7) next week to help introduce her to D&D (which has fascinated her ever since she found out that daddy has his friends round to play one night a week  )

Thanks for this - it looks like an excellent kids intro to the game.

I remember Rel had a story hour about some of the adventures that he ran for his daughter. She was about 3 at the time if I remember correctly so it may not be all that useful for you. :D

Glad to see everyone is doing their part to continue the hobby.

Probably worth mentioning that my daughter has since gone on to run numerous games of our version of Descent as the "Game Master". Most of them involved rescuing a princess from a dragon.

In the last year she's written her own RPG called "Game in a Jar" (because it fits inside a jar and has a few mechanics where you randomly draw stuff from the jar). She's run her first adventure with it several times at the NC and DC Game Days. She's currently working on her second adventure which she hopes to debut at the NC Game Day in April.

She's currently 8.
